Son Rise Church of Christ

Kill Devil Hills, NC

History :

In 1986 a small group of people dreamed of planting a new church on the Outer banks of North Carolina, and so they did. Meeting together in local houses and restaurants they gathered weekly for communion and bible study. In 1987 the Eastern North Carolina Christian Men’s Fellowship joined the effort to launch this new congregation, sending Melvin Styons as a part-time preacher. As the congregation grew the Men’s Fellowship, along with many individual supporters, sent Homer Styons in full time. Through the years, Son Rise has continued to reach the lost and is itself focused on planting new churches through the ENCCMF. With the continuous support of so many, the Son Rise history has been a success to the glory of God. We can surely say with Paul, “In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” Philippians 1:4-5
